New Beginnings Maternity Home of Morgantown was established to provide a home for pregnant women who choose to carry their pregnancy to term. The Home will provide residential care for women and their unborn children who have no other source of financial, emotional, or spiritual support in the community.

   This Home has been designed to provide a family type setting, with house parents and no more than five women in residence at a time. The residents will receive instruction on social skills, problem solving, and independent living skills. Each resident will work toward goals individualized to meet her strengths and areas that need improvement.

   Young women are admitted to New Beginnings regardless of race, religion, or national origin. Admission time is flexible, but would preferably be in the fourth month of pregnancy. Each resident is required to work with a county Department of Social Services or a licensed adoption agency.

  2. Pre-admission interview 

  3. Pre-natal physical 

        
  1. Communicable diseases test

  2. Approval of intake committee

Discharge Policy

    Discharge from the Home will occur at the time of being discharged from the hospital or upon the resident's request, 
unless other arrangements have been made. A suitable living situation will be arranged by the resident before entering the hospital for delivery. The Home will assist the resident in making these arrangements.
