Bridges is a caring support group and parenting program whose desire is to meet the needs encountered during an unplanned pregnancy and single parenting. We offer practical help and emotional support as well as educational opportunities to improve parenting skills.
   The program is for any young woman who is either pregnant, or has a young child, and is looking for support, friendship, and assistance. 

• SUPPORT:

  • The Bridges counselors understand the concerns that come along with pregnancy or being a new mother or single parent. We are dedicated to providing a loving, confidential environment in which you can comfortably share these concerns.

• EDUCATION:

  • You will have the opportunity to become familiar with the development of your baby, labor and delivery, breast feeding, and caring for your newborn and toddlers with the help of speakers and videos who specialize in these areas.

  • Opportunities will also be available to develop important life skills helpful for you and your babies future. 

• THE MOMMY STORE:

  • Shop for maternity and baby items in our Mommy Store with Mommy Dollars you will earn by attending these meetings. The “Mommy Store” operates through our pregnancy resource center called “Choices for Life”. Each time a “Mom” attends a meeting, she will receive “Mommy Dollars” which she can spend in our Mommy Store. The Mommy Store offers gently used maternity clothes, baby clothes, and other items needed for baby’s care. Diapers, wipes, and toiletry items are also available. 

• REFERRALS:

  • Bridges counselors will help you locate needed medical, housing, adoption or social services. 

• 2nd Friday of each month beginning July 8, 2005,  9:30 a.m.—12:00 noon

Where Do We Meet?

• At the offices of Pediatric & Teenage Dentistry located at 3000 Hampton Center on the 2nd floor, Suite C. Directions

   Our meeting place will have a very large playroom for children, so you can bring your children with you. The focus of the meetings will be to provide parenting training and to teach important life skills. Labor of Love Ministries has been blessed with a complete series of parenting videos. The Bridges Program we have put together puts us in a position to offer this unique parenting opportunity to those young mothers in our community. There will also be a time of fellowship. Snacks will be provided.

   At Labor of Love Ministries, our desire is to take the “crisis” out of your crisis pregnancy. We care about you and your child, both unborn and born. We hope that in the months to come our Bridges Support Group and Parenting Program can be a blessing to you.
